Indeed, she revealed that two mutations in the gene encoding for the caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 14 (CARD14), are primarily observed in keratinocytes and might induce psoriasis by triggering expression of NF-κB, an inducible transcription factor that regulates a large array of genes involved in different processes of the immune and inflammatory responses [46,47]. The gene discussed is CARD14; the disease is psoriasis.
