Compared to EAU in the WT mice, disease in the CD19-STAT3KO mice was characterized by the infiltration of large numbers of inflammatory cells into the retina resulting in substantial destruction of retinal cells, development of more retinal folding, serous retinal detachment, vasculitis, retinitis, choroiditis, and vitreitis (Fig. 3B).
