We therefore performed a cross-analysis between transcriptomic and PARP inhibitor susceptibility data from 452 cancer lines derived from a wide variety of tissues archived by the Cancer Genome Project (Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, UK), and a publically-available STAT3 ChIP-seq dataset from human cells by the ENCODE Project (NHGRI, USA) [32–34]. This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and cancer.
