The predictive value of angiogenic factors in laryngeal cancer is the subject of contemporary researches with the majority concentrating on the activity of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) axis regulated by transcription factors such as hypoxia inducible factor 1α (HIF-1α) and co-receptors such as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR1) and Neuropilins 1 and 2 (NRP 1, 2). The gene discussed is FLT1; the disease is laryngeal carcinoma.
