A study by Hempel et al [34] (n = 100 including 24 glioblastomas) found significantly higher rCBV values in IDH wild-type glioblastomas with a methylated MGMT than in those with an unmethylated MGMT. Chahal et al [35] found higher levels of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (VEGFR-1) in unmethylated compared with methylated MGMT cells, hypothesizing that this should lead to an increased vascularization of the tumor.
