GLS and pancreatic neoplasm: first encapsulated bis‐2‐(5‐phenylacetamido‐1,2,4‐thiadiazol‐2‐yl)ethyl sulfide (BPTES), an insoluble glutaminolysis inhibitor, in poly (lactic‐co‐glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles for the treatment of pancreatic cancer (Figure 14).[50] BPTES can inhibit the activity of glutaminase, an enzyme catalyzing the first step of glutaminolysis (i.e., the conversion of glutamine to glutamate), by binding at the oligomerization interface of the glutaminase tetramer, resulting in a decreased glutamine consumption.
