A similar mechanism has been described for other triterpenoids, such as Saikosaponin-d (SSd), which inhibited cell proliferation in the HepG2 and Hep3B HCC cell lines and DU145 prostate cancer cells, through the upregulation of p53 and p21, cell cycle arrest in the G0/G1 phase, and apoptosis induction [32,49]. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
