VEGFA and peripheral arterial disease: Recently, we reported that impaired vascularization in patients with PAD is associated with elevated levels of VEGF-A165b, an antiangiogenic VEGF-A alternative splice variant, and reduced levels of the proangiogenic VEGF-A165a splice isoform19. Therefore, we evaluated the levels of the circulating VEGF-A isoforms, including total VEGF-A and VEGF-A165b, before and after the ADRC implantation using ELISA.
