It has previously been shown that overexpression of the NUP98-NSD1 fusion alone induces an AML-like disease in mice [15], while, similar to our finding that NRASG12D enhances the leukemogenicity of NUP98-NSD1, overexpression of the NUP98-NSD1 fusion in association with the FLT3-ITD mutation causes leukemia [32]. This evidence concerns the gene NSD1 and leukemia.
