Transgenic expression of PRDX2 and its mimic, Chetomin, were able to rescue the pathogenic phenotype of G2019S in Drosophila. Our data provides evidence that PRDX2 confers a neuroprotection on pathogenic LRRK2 and that PRDX2 mimic can be further studied as a potential clinical drug for PD. This evidence concerns the gene PRDX2 and Parkinson disease.
