Further studies of the pathways involved, as well as molecular modeling of the interaction of Tv1 with TRPC6, led to the conclusion that in HCC cells, Tv1 binds to TRPC6 leading to decreases in: [Ca2+]cyt; NFAT activation; cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) expression; and PGE2 concentration, all of which contribute to inhibition of HCC cell proliferation and migration [29].
