ITPR2 and liver cancer: Further investigations using Hep-12 (subset of HCC cells enriched in liver cancer stem cells) and Hep-11 (HCC cells) provided additional evidence that oscillations in [Ca2+]cyt play a role in maintaining the ability of liver cancer stem cells to self-renew and form tumors and identified InsP3R2 as a contributor to these [Ca2+]cyt oscillations [16].
