The proportions of IL-8+ naïve T cells were dramatically reduced in thymoma patients 3 months after tumor removal, whereas patients with thymic cysts, thymic carcinomas, teratomas, and lymphomas showed no obvious alteration in the proportion of IL-8+ naïve T cells after surgical resection (Fig. 2), suggesting that the increase in the proportion of IL-8+ naïve T cells in thymoma patients is caused by thymoma. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and thymic carcinoma.
