Overexpression of syndecan-1 is reported in many hematological and solid tumors such as multiple myeloma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and breast, bladder, pancreatic, lung, ovarian, endometrial, and hepatocellular carcinoma, and its expression may affect the prognosis of those cancers [6]. This evidence concerns the gene SDC1 and plasma cell myeloma.
