ACE2 and COVID-19: Interestingly, within the United Kingdom Biobank, ApoE e4e4 homozygotes were 2.3–4.0-fold more likely to be COVID-19 test positives (OR = 2.31, 95% CI: 1.65 to 3.24) and may relate to co-expression of ApoE e4 and ACE2 within type 2 alveolar epithelial cells (116).
