There was a study day by group by gender interaction (P = 0.02), such that male participants with T2D had an increased glucagon response during NOEX and PMEX compared to females (NOEX, 46.0 ± 15.5 vs. 8.2 ± 7.8 ng/L, P = 0.04; PMEX, 228.2 ± 45.0 vs. 50.4 ± 22.5 ng/L, P = 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene GCG and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
