We can demonstrate a bimodal oscillation of EVI1 protein levels with maximum EVI1 levels at the end of S-phase, similar to that described for related transcription factors MLL and GATA2 [9, 16], and imply a role of the proteasome for EVI1-degradation, which could also provide therapeutic options for EVI1-overexpressing leukaemia. Here, MECOM is linked to leukemia.
