Although the neutralizing anti-C5 antibody eculizumab has been used successfully in treating patients with catastrophic APS and in preventing re-thrombosis in patients undergoing surgical intervention (58, 64), very few information is available on its use in APS pregnant patients except for an anecdotal report of a patient who received eculizumab to prevent severe pregnancy complications (65). This evidence concerns the gene C5 and autoimmune polyendocrinopathy.
