The peptide duramycin has been shown to have a rather specific antiviral effect: it binds to phosphatidylethanolamine in enveloped virions, precluding virus attachment to TIM1 receptors on the host cells and reducing TIM1-mediated, but not L-SIGN-mediated, virus infection (Richard et al., 2015; Tabata et al., 2016).
