PTGS2 and Stroke: Our results showed that levels of IgG and Hb were significantly increased in the ischemic cerebral cortex of wild-type mice compared to sham-operated group, while the increases in these two plasma proteins were dramatically reduced in the COX-2−/− mice or with post-ischemic treatment of CAY10404, suggesting that genetic deletion or pharmacological inhibition of COX-2 could attenuate stroke-induced BBB damage and hemorrhagic transformation.
