STAT3 and gastric cancer: In the study reported here, we found that H. pylori infection induced phosphorylation of STAT3 on Ser727 as well, and the resulting P-STAT3Ser727 was detected predominantly in mitochondria and that nuclear translocation of P-STAT3Tyr705 and mitochondrial localization of P-STAT3Ser727 occurred, independently of each other in H. pylori infected human gastric cancer cells.
