SELP and acute coronary syndrome: In patients with acute coronary syndrome, clopidogrel resistance (demonstrated using platelet surface P-selection expression) has been shown to be associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular death, acute coronary syndrome or stent thrombosis.13 The present study is the first to assess the association between baseline platelet surface expression of P-selectin indicative of clopidogrel resistance in patients with prior ischaemic stroke or TIA and recurrent cerebrovascular events.
