Pelttari et al. reported that BRAF mutation was not significantly associated with lymph node metastasis, tumor size and distant metastasis at the time of disease presentation.27, 28 Furthermore, Koo et al. reported that only tumor size and the presence of lymphatic and vascular invasion have been shown to be predictors of lymph node metastasis independently of BRAF mutation.28 This evidence concerns the gene BRAF and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
