BRAF and neoplasm: Several studies have reported a correlation of BRAF V600E with clinical and pathological features of more aggressive PTC, such as distant or nodal metastases, larger tumor size and advanced stage.11, 12 The presence of the BRAF p.V600E mutation has been included to the latest recommendations of the American Thyroid Association (ATA)13 as a factor to be consider in stratification for the risk of a poor clinical course in PTC.
