In literature, variable results were found regarding the association of serum leptin with lipid parameters.10,25 Similar to our findings, a meta-analysis stated that raised leptin levels are not correlated with stroke and CVD risks.26 Hence the role of serum leptin as a risk factor in AMI patients and other CVDs is debatable and needs more longitudinal studies to develop the causal association. This evidence concerns the gene LEP and stroke disorder.
