As expected, we observed higher levels of BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-to-hip circumference ratio, systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), fasting plasma glucose, fasting plasma insulin, HOMA-IR, triglycerides, total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and lower levels of HDL cholesterol in MetS than in the controls (P < 0.001). Here, INS is linked to metabolic syndrome.
