Figure 1 (and Supplementary table 2) shows that cardiovascular-related biomarkers [total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein–cholesterol (LDL-c), high-density lipoprotein–cholesterol (HDL-c), triglycerides (TG), apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I), apolipoprotein B (ApoB), C-reactive protein (CRP) and lipoprotein a] were not related to prostate cancer diagnosis or mortality. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is prostate cancer.
