In addition we have also checked hepatic and cardiac mRNA expression of iNOS, eNOS and TNF-α (involved in inflammations) and levels of protein expressions of PPAR-α, PPAR-γ, p21, p53, Bcl2, Bax, cleaved caspase 3, cleaved caspase 9 (associated with dyslipidemia, metabolic disturbances, oxidative stress and apoptosis) in this present experimental set up; increased mRNA expression of iNOS, TNF-α were significantly (P < 0.01) down regulated and decreased mRNA expression of eNOS was significantly (P < 0.01) up regulated by EECGLH in both isolated hepatocytes and cardiomyocytes. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
