In human leukemia, activation of EVI1 transcription is usually caused by chromosomal rearrangements at the site of the EVI1 locus, 3q26 [59,60], among which, the most frequent involve 3q21 and 3q26, resulting in t(3;3)(q21q26) and inv(3)(q21q26). The gene discussed is RUNX1; the disease is leukemia.
