The top fifteen genes significantly hypermethylated in their promoters that could distinguish HNSCC from potentially premalignant oral lesions are: RAD51B, BARX2, SLC5A10/FAM83G, NINL, NSMCE2, PGAP2, INO80C, IL34, ZNF516, GFOD2, PARD3, MCEE, POLM, ASPG, and TBC1D2 (Table 1). The gene discussed is PGAP2; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
