PET imaging with albumin-bound [68Ga]ABY-028 might be a useful tool for identifying the time window for the acute cerebral leakage of albumin, for studying the ability of anti-vasogenic edema drugs to prevent abnormal leakage of albumin and similar size substances into the brain [71] and for predicting the probability that albumin-ABD-based therapeutics can enter the brain in this and potentially also in other neurological disorders such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, traumatic brain injury, and inflammation. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
