Shionno et al. published that POSTN deposition pattern changed with the number of eosinophils in NPs patients [38], and later, Ninomiya et al. [39] reported that distribution of POSTN has been determined by immunohistochemical analysis and has differences between between the non-ECRS and severe ECRS phenotypes, showing that in health subject, POSTN deposition was observed only in the subepithelial layer, and in CRSwNP from patients in the superficial type. The gene discussed is POSTN; the disease is chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.
