In the view of serum production, Ninomiya et al. [37] subdiveded CRS patients into four subtypes: non-ECRS, mild-ECRS, moderate ECRS and severe ECRS following the criteria of JESREC (Japanese Epidemiological Survey of Refractory Eosinophilic Chronic Rhinosinisitis) scoring system, and their results indicated there was a positive association between serum periostin level and severity of ECRS. The gene discussed is POSTN; the disease is congenital rubella syndrome.
