The MRG signature had a significant prognostic value for patients carrying wild-type TP53 and CTNNB1 in both cohorts and also mutant TP53 and CTNNB1 in the ICGC cohort (Fig. S1), thus suggesting that TP53 and CTNNB1 are risk-indicator genes for HCC, regardless of the presence or absence of mutations. This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
