In the current study, the pharmacological target of the Kv1.3 potassium channels for immunomodulation of autoimmune diseases has been found, and the therapeutic efficacy of some potent peptide Kv1.3 channel blockers for autoimmune diseases including multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, type-1 diabetes, and psoriasis in animal models has been reported [6]. This evidence concerns the gene KCNA3 and autoimmune disease.
