As NADP(H) oxidases (NOX) have been implicated as a source of free radical generation in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion [45,46], bEnd.3 cells adapted to 18 kPa O2 were pre-treated with the NOX inhibitor VAS2870 (5 μM) for 30 min, incubated with L-012 and then exposed to hypoxia (1 kPa O2, 1 h) and reoxygenation. This evidence concerns the gene FMO5 and brain ischemia.
