CD14 and liver cancer: Overexpressed miR-99b in BM cells or monocytes promoted macrophage differentiation and maturation along with high expression of F4/80, MHCII and Vcam1 and low expression of Ly6C (online supplementary figure S2D, E), resembling the phenotype of miR-125a during myeloid development.7 Interestingly, we found that the expression of miR-99b and miR-125a was lower in sorted CD14+CD163+ TAMs of patients with liver cancer than in adjacent tissues (online supplementary figure S3).
