CTSB and melanoma: Through its component β-ursolic acid, Salvia officinalis EO, inhibited proteases implicated in the mechanisms by which tumor cells metastasize, such as serine proteases (trypsin, thrombin and urokinase) and the cysteine protease cathepsin B. In vivo inhibition of lung colonization of B16 mouse melanoma cells by intraperitoneal administration of β-ursolic acid was also highlighted [148].
