This may be due to the fact that, despite being described a decrease in p53 expression in patients with HCC, due to mutations at different points of the gene that encodes it (TP53) [8], the HepG2 line has this gene intact, being probably induced its expression by situations far from homeostasis in cancer cells, such as an increase in ROS intracellular levels, appreciated in our results.
