The results (Figure 2A) showed that the SMS2 mRNA levels were obviously decreased by about 80.67 + 4.38% (p < 0.001, n = 20), and protein levels were significantly reduced to approximately 71.33 ± 8.47% (p < 0.005, n = 20) in asthenospermia compared to normozoospermia (Figure 2B). This evidence concerns the gene SGMS2 and Reduced sperm motility.
