By analyzing clinical tumor specimens of 175 PDAC patients, we previously found that ERβ and phosphorylated ERβ (pERβ) are highly expressed in the majority of pancreatic cancer patients (61.7% and 80.6%, respectively) and that pERβ expression correlates with a poor prognosis in these patients [12, 13]. The gene discussed is ESR2; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
