CRP and infection: It has been demonstrated that COVID-19 can contribute to cardiovascular manifestations with nonischemic mechanisms including fulminant myocarditis and cardiomyopathy.9 Hereupon, cardiomyopathy without any respiratory symptoms can be seen among COVID-19 patients.9 Studies have demonstrated that there is a correlation among the levels of TnT, C-reactive protein (CRP), and NT-proBNP.17,18 It indicates that myocardial injury in COVID-19 patients is associated with the severity of infection-caused inflammation and ventricular dysfunction.
