This was reported earlier for Icelandic BRCA2 carriers,1 in contrast with Icelandic non-carriers, where the percentage of lymph node-positive patients was lower for ER-positive than for ER-negative cancers.1 This implies that ER-positive breast cancers in BRCA2 carriers are more prone to regional metastasis than are ER-positive tumours in the general population (we did not have data on Stage IV cancers to see if this was also true for distant metastases). The gene discussed is BRCA2; the disease is neoplasm.
