Pharmacological suppression of LEF1 by selenite and ethacrynic acid (EA), which inhibit LEF1 transcriptional activity, was also found to attenuate cellular proliferation and promote cellular apoptosis in renal cell carcinoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, and multiple myeloma [20,21,22,23]. This evidence concerns the gene LEF1 and hereditary clear cell renal cell carcinoma.
