In summary, these data support an important role for PrPC in cell motility processes of several cancer types, since PrPC has been widely shown to be related to cancer cell migration, invasion and metastasis, being involved in the recruitment of molecules and signaling platforms, in the modulation of the expression of genes and proteins, and in the activation of intracellular pathways in tumor cells (Table 1).
