In multivariate analysis, thrombocytopenia was independently associated with age group 40–49 years (PR = 0.33, 95% CI: 0.16–0.70, P = 0.004), male participants (PR = 2.36, 95% CI: 1.37–4.07, P = 0.002), unmarried (PR = 2.36, 95% CI: 1.33–4.20, P = 0.003), and CD4 count less than 200 cell/mm3 (PR = 2.91, 95% CI: 1.58–5.35, P = 0.001) (Table 7).
