p53 is a tumor suppressor protein; however, mutant p53 protein has been shown to be a biomarker in several cancers, such as human breast cancer, colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and a prognostic marker in breast cancer, oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma, colon cancer, non-small cell lung cancer and B cell lymphoma [26–33].
