The therapeutic effects of YHQ on AP are associated with the reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-6) and inflammatory mediators (PGE2, LTB4 and LTD4) caused by injuries induced by ammonia in rat model via inhibiting phosphorylation of p38, Erk, and NF-κB (p65) and lowering the protein expressions of COX-2 and 5-LOX. This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and alkaline phosphatase measurement.
