ACTA1 and Hepatic fibrosis: Shi et al. [55] noted that chlorogenic acid markedly alleviated the content of hydroxyproline and the expression of α-SMA, collagen I, collagen III, and TIMP-1, attenuating the CCl4-caused fibrosis of the liver in rats, and suggested that this effect is, at least in part, connected with the suppression of oxidative stress.
