In our study, we did not observe differences in serum levels of ghrelin between women with PCOS and control subjects, although our results indicate that ghrelin serum concentrations are connected, in an inverse manner, to the dietary intake of total fat, MUFA, PUFA, LC-PUFA, and total cholesterol in the PCOS group. The gene discussed is GHRL; the disease is polycystic ovary syndrome.
