Sclareol was found to promote apoptosis of the breast cancer cells; thus, the expression of various apoptosis-related genes such as p53, Bcl-2, and Bax, as well as JAK2 and STAT3 was analyzed to achieve a better understanding of how sclareol exerts cytotoxic effects and promotes apoptosis. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is breast carcinoma.
