A prominent pro-inflammatory Th1 and Th17 response was observed. IL-17 could recruit monocytes and neutrophils to sites of infection and enhance production of Th17-related cytokines. Induction of IFN-γ and IFN-α2 could promote antigen presenting and antiviral Th1 response. Elevated IL-10 might play a role in host immune regulation. No elevation in IL-12 and Th-2 cytokines was observed. Here, IFNA2 is linked to infection.
