Interestingly, when the hamsters were coinfected with TLR2 agonist Pam3CSK4 and challenge, hamster survival was increased and kidney, liver, and lung lesions were lessened suggesting that TLR2, and the timing of its response, has a role to play in the control of leptospirosis (Zhang et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene TLR2 and leptospirosis.
